The Sacred Heart Church dominates the skyline in the centre of the town as nearby the Camowen and Drumragh rivers merge to form the River Strule which in turn forms part of the River Foyle. Omagh is a popular tourist destination with several music and literary events each year, including the Appalachian and Bluegrass Music Festival, the Mid-summer Carnival, and the Omagh and District Arts Festival. Nearby, the Ulster American Folk Park is one of the country’s main tourist attractions, telling the story of 18th and 19th Century emigrants to left Ireland in their thousands for new lives in North America.
